Three funded studentships are available immediately for the following
projects.
The projects will combine methods of psychophysics, visual evoked
potentials
and optical brain imaging using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS).
1. Changes of Cortical Facilitation and Suppression in the
Ageing Brain (VIS/01)
Funding Source: University funded studentship

Eligibility: 1st or 2:1 in appropriate discipline

2. Investigation of Visual Function in Persistent Migraine Aura
(VIS/02)

3. Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) of the Primary Visual
Cortex in Adults and Neonates (VIS/03)
Funding Body: College of Optometrists
Start Date: 1st October, 2007 (later dates can be
arranged)
Eligibility: Scholars must be members of the
College of Optometrists

Studentships are funded for 3 years at RCUK rates. Scholars are
expected to contribute to departmental teaching/demonstration to a
maximum of 6 hours per week.
