AAP sanctuary for exotic animals

Position Description:
In this challenging and independent job you will be responsible for
the coordination of Primadomus in Spain. You will be responsible at
the end for all activities, of which the most important is caretaking
of the animals. Together with your small but closely involved team
you will be daily taking care of the chimpanzees. But your job has a
lot more to offer: beside that you will be the face and
representative in Spain en will keep in touch with relevant parties,
like local authorities and other governmental organisations in Spain.
You are capable of communicating and building relationships with
different parties: from suppliers to interest groups. In addition,
you are financially responsible and are capable of implementing
activities in wide working field, based on yearly plans.
You will give account to the management in the Netherlands. Of course
you will receive the necessary assistance from the Netherlands
concerning ethology, food, veterinary business, but also staff
matters and legal affairs.

In the beginning you will manage a small (international) team from 3
to 5 people and possibly a few volunteers. This number may grow,
depending on the number of other animals that will be placed in the
future.

Qualifications/Experience:
For this job we are looking for a pioneer who wants to take the
responsibility to building the future of our Life Time Care Center
Primadomus.

We would like to contact you if you think you meet the following
criteria:
· Affinity with animals and AAPs objectives
· An European citiesen
· Higher vocational education and acting accordingly
· Knowing how to work with primates, preferably with chimpanzees
· Be well grounded at finances en administration
· English-speaking and preferably Spanish-speaking, or anyway willing
to learn this at short notice
· Good social, executive abilities and communicative skills
· Flexible attitude; capable of switching between actual practice and
management
· Driving licence according to the Dutch standard : B en preferably E

Salary/funding:
Salary will depend on age and experience and vary between € 2.272,20
and a maximum of € 3.124,28 (gross on a 40 hours basis). We offer you
a very challenging job with a lot of responsibility in an open,
informal but professional and rapidly growing organization, in a
natural environment where animals and humans are at the centre.
